The Technology and Design curriculum at Thornhill College is centred on providing students with a positive and interesting educational experience in each Key Stage. Students have the opportunity to partake in Technology & Design activities which engage their interests, reflect their level of maturity and experience in the realisation of technological artefacts. Student are provide with the opportunities to experience the sense of satisfaction and enjoyment that comes from design and realisation activities that have been carefully select to ensure a positive experience and the development of technological capability.

Technology and Design
This specification builds on the broad Technology & Design experiences gained by candidates who followed the GCSE course. It provides a solid foundation for study at a higher level in a range of engineering and industrial design areas of practice, or in areas of study related to engineering and design. A-level Project Work There is project work which enables candidates to explore areas of the subject which are of particular interest to them. Project work is assessed and is worth 40% of the AS-level qualification and 35% overall of the A2-level qualification |
