Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities are viewed as an important part of the curriculum at Thornhill College and a wide range of activities is available.

The activities usually take place on a weekly basis either at lunchtime or after school. Most of the activities take place on the school site but some occur at other venues.


Pupils are encouraged to participate in as many activities as possible to broaden their learning experience, increase their skills and self-esteem, and of course to provide a bit of fun! The range of activities includes:

Some pupils also complete activities as part of the Duke of Edinburgh/ President's Award Scheme

The activities are designed to be enjoyable. They may involve a small commitment from the pupils but may also allow pupils to follow particular interests more deeply.  The activities may vary slightly from year to year.
