Congratulations to Class 9E who were runners-up in the NIABF Anti-Bullying Week Competition 2017.

Kiera McCarron, Roíse O’Murchu, Abby O’Donnell, Grace Flynn, Aine Devine and Jodie McCallion were presented with their prize at an Award Ceremony in Belfast City Hall.

Their involvement in the competition began last year, when the class were asked to write a poem or short story on the theme of Bullying for homework, following class discussions where pupils shared their own personal experiences and opinions on the topic.

Róíse O’Murchú wrote a song entitled ‘Stand up to bullies’ for this homework task and surprised and delighted the whole class when she performed it.  Their Drama teacher, Ms Pender, then invited the class to create Freeze-frames to tell the story of the song.  With the help of our Audio-visual technician, Mr McFadden, they recorded an impressive video which was entered for the NIABF Anti Bullying Competition 2017 .

Congratulations to Roise and all involved!
