Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Karen Bradley MP, on her visit to Thornhill College: “It’s such a high-achieving school; it’s got so much to offer - a fantastic place to be, a fantastic place to study.”

Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Karen Bradley MP, visited Thornhill to meet with our Principal, Ms Mallett, Governors, Staff and Pupils. She was given a tour of our school and met with our Politics students before having lunch with some of our Drama students.

Ms Bradley, it seems, is a big fan of the hit TV series 'Derry Girls' and was particularly delighted to visit the school which provided writer and former pupil, Lisa McGee with the inspiration for the series. Miss Huey took the opportunity to present Ms Bradley with a special commemorative edition of 'The Habit' which had been published in celebration of World Book Day.

Ms Bradley was extremely impressed by our school:

“It’s such a high-achieving school; it’s got so much to offer - a fantastic place to be, a fantastic place to study.”
